Dr. Maryam Shettima, a ministerial nominee from Kano state, was turned away from the National Assembly after her name was removed from the ministerial list sent by President Tinubu for confirmation. A video capturing this incident has been circulating on social media.
President Tinubu had submitted 19 names to the Senate for confirmation, and Shettima was one of the nominees.
However, when Shettima arrived at the National Assembly on August 4 for her screening, she was informed that her name had been replaced with Maigari Mahmud.
