Amanda is best known as a comedian and actress. She was born in Inglewood, CA to an African American father and a mother from Grenada. She has dual citizenship in both the U.S. and Grenada and grew up living in various places, including Orlando, FL.
In addition to acting in film and TV, she works as a musician and has released several EPs and mixtapes and sometomes collaborates with other artists. She also co-hosted ‘The Real’ for six months in 2020 but left after she felt she wasn’t allowed to openly talk about certain social issues.
Amanda was announced as the 2020 BET Awards host on June 15, 2020. She has been vocal about her support of the Black Lives Matter movement and seeking racial justice for African Americans who have been killed by others due to racist motivation.
